The Galstaun Function Centre is a wonderful venue located in Frenchs Forest, which is part of the Sydney North Shore near the Northern Beaches, with Sydney City Views.
Officially opened in March 1982 as the Austral-Armenian Community Centre. Owned by the Austral-Armenian Association Inc, The hall was built to hold private functions ranging from Discos to Dinner Dance Fund Raising Events. The funds raised were used to provide community support for all Armenians to help them blend into the Australian Society and Culture easier and better.
It was in the early 2000’s that the hall had a major renovation, a modernisation, and the building name was changed to the Galstaun Reception Centre and then renamed again in 2013 as the Galstaun Function Centre.
Due to recent flooding damage we are currently NOT able to offer the Function Hall for any functions or events.
We have currently stopped all internal Association functions, not only due to Covid restrictions but primarily due to the building maintenance that is required.
The Hub Performing Arts Centre are currently using the site as their Dance Studios. Previously known as The Form Dance Studios, they have grown to enhance their business and daily performing requirements of the public.
The Function hall has a formal seating capacity of 200 or around 350 for cocktail style events, we can help you host nearly any type of Function, Party or Event you are planning. We NO LONGER accept birthday parties celebrating the ages of 16th through to 21st’s, but perhaps you are searching for a venue when arranging a Wedding Reception, or perhaps you have been searching for an easily accessible venue in the Northern Beaches where you can impress your special clients and make your employees feel valued during Corporate Events, Training Seminars and Business Meetings.
The Centre is located centrally around other European Community Centres and behind us is the Ararat Reserve – a soccer oval provided and maintained by the Northern Beaches Council.
